The Polygraph

Is Jesus Christ a liar, does He really speak what’s true?
Does your life reflect His word by everything you do?
He sometimes spoke of heaven more often spoke of hell,
Do you believe that they exist, do your neighbor of them tell?
He declared that worldly things are permanent as smoke,
Do you invest in heaven exactly as He spoke?
He said if we would follow Him, we must take up our cross,
Though we call Him Lord and Savior, do we call Him boss?
He said, “I give a new command, for you to love your brother,”
But do you bend to wash men’s feet to scrub the toes of others?
His own mouth said to feed the poor, when you do you do for Him,
But do you look the other way as though you can’t see them?
“If you love me, keep my commands,” He declared unto us all,
But do we have selective hearing when to us He makes His call?
He said to give a child some water you will not lose reward,
But are we living, giving in a way that invests in heaven towards.
We would not call Him liar, we abhor the very thought,
But what we do is what’s truly true; by our actions we are caught.
Caught between the crosshairs of righteousness and truth,
With men words carry little weight in the pudding is the proof.
But the Word of Christ the Living God is solid as a rock,
A man will reap what he does sow; God’s word will not be mocked.
To see what’s deep inside our heart look at your hands and feet,
When love shines to the outside then the love inside’s complete.
I ask is Christ a liar, you tell me heavens no!
You say He is your Lord and Savior and to heaven you will go.
But the Master knows all hearts, He sees beyond deceit,
And one day every single man will bow down at His feet.
The truth will be revealed; whose works declare Him as liar,
There’s nothing left for these multitudes, but torment and great fire.

Teritus

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’
will enter the kingdom of heaven,
but only the one who does the will of my Father
who is in heaven.
Many will say to me on that day,
‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name
and in your name drive out demons
and in your name perform many miracles?’
Then I will tell them plainly,
‘I never knew you.
Away from me, you evildoers!’
Matthew 7:21-23

A note about “Polygraph”: You might be a bit (or maybe a lot) perturbed that I would raise such a question that the opening line asks, but most of us if not everyone questions His honesty by the way we live our lives. If we truly believe what He says our every breath should be dedicated to His honor, glory, praise, thanks and His Kingdom. It seems “Ye of little faith” was spoken to us all. Actions speak louder than words and our actions are the lie detector test for our faith or lack of it. His Words are true, every jot and tittle. So says my pen, now if only my hands, feet and great big mouth would verify it!
