PROTECTION PERFECTION

Answer me this question, answer if you can,
Where do you find protection, is it God or is it man?
No weapon that is made can protect your very soul,
It might get used on you and lead you to sheol.
Body armor, gas masks may simply the reaper stall,
But all of us will answer, when our name he does call.
Insurance is a rotten joke; it insures the agent’s purse,
A robber in a suit and tie, he is a modern curse*.
Smoke alarms and seat belts are good in their own way,
But even they cannot save when comes your dying day.
Many folks feel quite safe and sound, with a wealthy pile of gold,
But unto itself money is a great destruction of the soul.
Some would build a fortress to keep out evil men,
But soon they find the evil they fear surely lies within.
Many seek protection in religion and a pew,
But to seek God on man’s futile terms will be the death of you.
There’s only One Safe Harbor within life’s fiercest storms,
The only place in this cold world we can go to be quite warm.
Protection from the outside, yes, the evil from all men,
Protection from the inside, yes, from all our homemade sin.
A fortress from the devil’s plan, he cannot breech this wall,
A bunker from his evil hand we ignore him when he calls.
In the shadow of the wings of God we find the greatest rest,
When it comes to our protection He’s more than good, He is the best.
No one whoever trusted Him has felt He let them down,
Although one day earthly heads may roll, we’ll one day wear a crown.
Who’d protect a temporary wealth, when heaven is ahead?
The protection Jesus bought for us was paid when for us He bled.
Our future is eternity and I trust God to protect and keep,
The greatest Shepherd of all time protects His little sheep!

Tertius

“Because he loves me,” says the LORD,
“I will rescue him; I will protect him,
for he acknowledges my name.”
Psalm 91:14

*opinions about insurance men are not necessarily the viewpoint held by the Kingdom of Heaven. This is Mr. Tertius own viewpoint.

A note about “Protection Perfection”: We all rely on worldly things for protection. But as I saw on a T-Shirt one time: “In the long run we’re all dead.” We should take care of our physical bodies, but our souls and our bodies should be entrusted to God. A wise man once said, “Work like everything depends on us and pray like everything depends on God.” Now that’s full coverage!
