The road of life comes with twists and turns,
Forks small and great that help us learn.
Decisions before us as we make our way,
Then our lack of knowledge comes into play.
Some things are clearly either bad or good,
An easy choice to do what we should.
But other times we simply cannot see
The outcome of what our choice may be.
Psychics, horoscopes, crystal balls,
Can mislead all those who call.
But there’s indeed a better way
For those who listen, those who pray.
Seek your counsel with the Lord,
His guidance will be your reward.
He knows the future as well as the past;
All knowledge is within His grasp.
Although men’s words would seem as sound,
When you find they’re wrong, they won’t be around.
Seek His counsel in all you do
And He will always lead you true.
His course you take may seem not best,
But His wisdom for you may be a test.
Set your sights on Him alone
And His favor you will be shown.
But trust His wisdom, employ your faith;
To those who trust, He gives His grace.
Let every detail within your life,
Be decided by the Living Christ.
He knows what’s best for you and me;
Seek His counsel and you’ll be free
From worry and stress of what to do,
And don’t forget His awesome Love for you!
Tertius
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
Psalm 32:8
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,
who gives generously to all without finding fault,
and it will be given to you.
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt,
because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea,
blown and tossed by the wind.
That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
James 1:5-7
A note about “GPS”: Psalm 119:105 says, “Your Word is a light unto my feet and a light unto my path.” God reveals His direction for us as we seek His counsel in His Word. Sometimes we may have to go to Him in prayer if we cannot find it in His Word, but one thing is for sure, He will set our course whether it seems correct or not. Sometimes it feels as though we are stumbling around in the dark, but He is there, helping us find His way. His way is not always our way, but His way is always best.
