Upon Your door, my heart knocks,
Always open, never locked.
I seek Your will and I find peace,
By faith my joy, it will increase.
I seek Your purpose, within my life,
I find the path, marked by Christ.
The world is dark, but You are Light,
My eyes were blind, till You gave sight.
This stormy world, would do me in,
Between the devil and my own sin.
But precious blood, spilt for me,
Breaks their bondage, sets me free.
Free from fear, free from strife,
The old man’s dead, the new’s in Christ.
My love and thanks, I can’t hold back,
For by Your grace, I nothing lack.
I’m just a sinner, who gave You pain,
Surely Your tears must be the rain.
Oh my sweet Jesus, You’ve saved my soul,
And day by day, Your Love unfolds.
My every need, I bring to You,
No father cares, just like You do.
You are my comfort and all I trust,
Beyond my frame that’s made of dust.
Oh thank You Jesus for all You give,
Not just with words, but how I live.
A life so bitter, dark and cold,
You have brought forth, like refined gold.
I shall remain within Your Love,
And You in my heart like hand in glove.
Oh thank You Father, I can’t say it enough,
Despite all odds, in You I trust.
Upon men’s doors, You gently knock,
Christ, the key, to their hearts lock.

Genesis 4:13
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
II Corinthians 3:17
A note about “Julio’s Prayer”: Written for an inmate I met who was just recently incarcerated and whose soul was in an obvious state of torment. He didn’t tell me his charges, but he said he was looking at twenty to life. He said he hadn’t been in any trouble in twenty years and the whole situation seemed to be (his words) driving him to a mental breakdown. This prayer was not spoken by him, but was my hope that it would become his. In the weeks since our initial contact he is changing before my eyes week by week. Growing in grace, growing in faith, I continue to pray this prayer will be wholly his.
