Some people think the Bible says, “Do not judge another,”
That we should be kind and true and always love our brother.
But Jesus said we should judge the one closer than a friend,
Judge them for their attitude, their evil thoughts and sin.
Judge them without mercy; do not cut them slack,
When you look inside your mirror that person’s looking back.
Often times we look at others, it’s not a pretty sight,
But we should always bear our souls to Jesus Holy Light.
Never judge another till your life is in line;
Or looking in the mirror a hypocrite you’ll find.
Do not judge the God-less, for God will judge them soon;
The forecast for their sentence is misery and doom.
But true Christians will judge angels; God’s Word has made this clear,
And we must judge our Christian sibling, to help them as they steer.
Guiding as a shepherd would His often-wayward sheep;
For He who sows in righteousness, righteousness they’ll reap.
But please make sure, that you are pure, living as you should,
And that your motive for judging another is not evil but is good.
The one you find offense with, talk this matter with them first.
To tell it to another may just make matters worse.
So, if you would aspire to be a judge one day,
See yourself in court, when you read God’s Word and pray.
Tertius
Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged,
and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye
and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’
when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye,
and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Matthew 7:1-5
What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church?
Are you not to judge those inside?
God will judge those outside.
“Expel the wicked person from among you.”
1 Corinthians 5:12-13
A note about “All Rise”: “Do not judge,” spoken by Jesus is taken out of context probably more than anything else in the Bible. We must judge ourselves on a daily basis and Paul clearly told in 1 Corinthians 5 we must judge other believers. In Matthew 7:5, He said to take the plank out of our eye and then we can help, (remove the speck or judge) our brothers. Judgement isn’t always about hate, sometimes it’s about restoration.
