The Gospel is real hearty fare, protein for the soul,
Get it while it’s piping hot, don’t let your heart grow cold.
It will give you power to help you seize the day,
And fatten up your spirit as it teaches you to pray,
But be careful who is cooking for the devil’s in the kitchen,
The water he puts in is surely not enriching.
Soup, soup, Gospel soup still good, but watered down,
Strain it and then toss the broth till real truth it is found.
Jesus said His Body is real food, His Blood real drink,
Take whatever is not Him and pour it down the sink.
The Gospel is my favorite food, but soup I do not savor,
Cause when the devil adds the water, it seems to lose its flavor.
Once a week the shepherds feed their flock of hungry sheep,
But when that meal is watered down, it leaves them thin and weak.
The shepherds coat their meals with honey and sugar thick,
But we all know that too much honey makes a sheep real sick.
Feed them the sweet Manna, they’re starving for real truth,
Give them Holy pudding for within it is the proof.
Granny had some chicken soup, but could not taste the meat,
She said the chicken must’ve run through the pot with boots upon his feet.
Jesus fed 5000 men, and all were full and glad,
You know He didn’t water down to stretch the food He had.
Who does the cooking in your kitchen, is Satan in an apron?
Does he serve your every meal on your table waiting?
Does he load your food with spice, but what’s healthy, not a crumb,
But when you step on to God’s scales you’ll see what Satan’s done.
Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of soup that day,
Don’t let the devil’s porridge waste your soul away.

Esau who for a bowl of soup
sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.
Hebrews 12:16
A note about “Gospel Soup:” The trend today seems to be to water down the message of God’s Kingdom and His plan of salvation so as not to offend anybody and to make them feel good. Don’t rock the boat or step on anybody’s toes. Satan has figured out by now he can’t stomp it out, so his next option is to water it down. We hear very little about sin, repentance, taking up our cross, or that four letter word, Hell. When you keep adding water to soup there’s not much nourishment.
