Joey was the finest girl,
Her beauty and song surpassed the world.
Her beauty and song surpassed the world.
We thought she left us way too soon,
But God gave her a special tune.
But God gave her a special tune.
And she still sings those Kingdom songs,
In God’s Kingdom where she belongs,
And I’ll sing with sweet Joey one fine day.
She sang of Jesus and for Him too,
Her love for Him is pure and true,
Her love for Him is pure and true.
Her song of Love refreshed our soul,
Her faith worth more than purest gold.
Her faith worth more than purest gold.
And she still sings those Kingdom songs,
In God’s Kingdom where she belongs,
And I’ll sing with sweet Joey one fine day.
Her memory is all that remains,
Here on earth, it gives us pain.
But she still sings and praises Jesus Name.
The praise she gave to Jesus Christ,
Was the beauty of her life.
Was the beauty of her life.
And death is but a steppingstone,
We’ll one bright morning sing round God’s throne.
We’ll one bright morning sing round God’s throne.
And she still sings those Kingdom songs,
In God’s Kingdom where she belongs,
And I’ll sing with sweet Joey one fine day.

Sing many a song so you will be remembered.
Isaiah 23:16
A note about “Joey”: A close friend of mine confided to me that he had broken his ties with God upon the death of Joey Feeks. Joey sang gospel music and old hymns with her husband Rory. She died of cancer in 2016. She was only 40 years old. His reason for his rejection of God in his life seemed to be that she was pretty, sang like an angel, was serving God by singing God’s music and she was just too young to die. I told him “she’s still singing.” He said, “but she’s dead.” I repeated, “She’s still singing.” Contrary to how it seems, I wrote this for him, not Joey. But I hope that it will honor her anyway. I hope he takes the words to heart, and we will all sing together one fine day.
