I love you, my dear, you know that I do,
But time will tell, time always speaks true.
I’ll love you, honey, till the day that I die,
But time will tell, for time doesn’t lie.
A raving beauty you are and you always will,
But time will tell when we all crest the hill.
Best friends forever that’s what we are,
But time will tell how long and tell far.
Like sand through the glass our days on this earth,
The briefest of time between death and our birth.
Time is the fire that consumes all we know,
We can’t conceive it, don’t believe it, till its ashes and smoke.
Better check on the time for time checks you out,
When it’s too late to pray, too late to shout.
The present is here, but soon it will pass,
Our life just like wine poured from a flask.
Minute by minute the hours fly by,
We’ve plenty of time, is Satan’s big lie.
“I love you dear child,” says Jesus so true,
And time it confirms by the gifts He gives you.
“I love you,” He said, “and for you I did die.”
And time it confirms now He reigns from on high.
No beauty in Him of worldly kind,
But time it confirms the joy that we find.
My Savior forever, that’s what He is,
And time after time I praise God I am His.
Like sand through the glass our days on the earth,
But by His great Love we have eternal rebirth.
Time’s not required in eternity though,
When we believe Him, receive Him, our faith starts to grow.
No need to check time when it’s time to check out,
For we’ve already prayed and in Him there’s no doubt.
The present is trouble, but soon it will pass,
As we serve our Sweet Lord and rejoice in this task.
Day by day the years they fly by,
Till it’s time to see Jesus this great time it draws nigh.
Tertius
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
Ecclesiastes 3:1
A note about “Tick Tock”: As hard as it is for us to get a grip on eternity, I wonder if one day, ten thousand years from now, we will have trouble remembering what the deal was with time?
