Bittersweet

Open their eyes that the blind they may see,
With a vision of faith that you’ve given to me.
Open their ears that the deaf they may hear,
The message of Love that to me is so clear.
Release their tongues that their sins they’ll confess,
And live in peace and in joy and in you find sweet rest.
Lord, help my brothers and sisters who know not,
The Love that you give, by your Son’s blood was bought.
For we all are so close, to eternity’s door,
As we pass through our choices, they will be no more.
No turning back, no change of mind,
Will it be joy or torment that you will find?
As I think of heaven and seeing Christ’s face,
Of spectacular wonder, such a glorious place.
I’m ready to leave this world of great woe,
My soul is ecstatic, I’m ready to go.
But I fear to leave brother, sister, or child,
Oh please let me stay here, Lord, for a while.
For one day I may bring them to the Fount of your Love,
And their gaze will leave earth and will fix on above.
No more could I leave them, in a house burning down,
Than to not tell them of Christ, not make a sound.
No one seems to listen to what I must say,
But maybe tomorrow, they will hear, oh I pray.
But tomorrow’s uncertain and only God knows,
The length of our day and when the door it will close.
Use me please, Jesus, to convey your sweet Love,
To draw souls to your light, that shines from above.
For hell is quite real and heaven is too,
Christ beckons all men, now what will you do?

Tertius

He who has the Son has life;
he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:12

A note about “Bittersweet”: I often ask God for a burden for those who do not yet know Him. He answers this prayer every day. I respond to this burden every day.
