The Inner Light

Spirit of God, Holy, divine,
May all that I am, be wholly thine.
Brilliant white light exposes all sin,
Lights up my heart, shines from within.
As I give you room, you fill me up,
And your bountiful Love over-runneth my cup.
The fruit of your harvest is the cream of the crop,
And from vine unto branch its abundance won’t stop.
We give praise and great thanks for your presence inside,
As we do, your light shines; it’s a light we can’t hide.
But the world loves not light and darkness it seeks,
And closes its ears, when the Spirit does speak.
Spirit of Jesus, may you shine on lost souls,
Bring them near to your warmth, in from the cold.
The things of this world all pass with time,
But in the depths of your child is eternal Sonshine.
So open the curtains, raise up the blinds,
Let the Sonshine come out of your heart and your mind.
A source of great power, untapped by most men,
Their weakness in accord with the extent of their sin.
The power to raise our Christ from the grave,
The strength to make free men from sin-burdened slaves.
What sin ravaged soul would reject such a gift,
And further from God and His peace slowly drift.
Now faith is the key and trust will unlock
This door to Salvation that Satan would block.
Christ is the door and His Spirit does call
To those who want truth to each and to all.
For truth it is light, the Light of the Son,
And to those who trust Him, He will save every one.
His Spirit will live in them, this promise He‘s made,
His glory is eternal, it will never fade.
So let Him come and rule, may your heart be His throne,
When He lives within you, you will never be alone.
Spirit so Holy breaks the power of death,
My life will be sublime when I draw my last breath.

Tertius

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you:
God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
1 John 1:5

The Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him,
because it neither sees him nor knows him.
But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
John 14:17

A note about “The Inner Light”: Can there be anything greater in our lives than to have the very Spirit of God taking up residence within us? Yet, this subject is rarely mentioned. It would seem God’s children would reveal the Holy Spirit more in their lives in every way than we do. Every perfect attribute of God is available to us through His indwelling and we still attempt to carry on by our own feeble means. Teacher, Comforter, Revealer, Guide, Prompter, Illuminator, and has the perfect Love — all for simply asking. Luke 11:11-13
