THE PLURAL FORM OF PRAY

The word pray is inside the word praise,
Unto God both words we should raise.
They both come forth from love and faith,
Come forth from hearts so blessed with grace.
Who can pray without giving praise,
As God has blessed us all our days.
To pray without praise you look to use
God’s grace to serve self, oh, what a ruse!
To praise God is prayer He hears each word,
That’s guaranteed, you may rest assured.
Praise fits in prayer like hand in glove,
The perfect combination to send above.
Inseparable as sky and as earth,
To God and man, they hold great worth.
Praise is our love that’s given flight,
To pray is to reflect God’s Holy Light.
Back to Him who forever shines,
Within our hearts beyond mortal time.
Praise our God the Source of all life,
The Father, Spirit and Jesus Christ.
Pray to Him the King over all,
Our praise breaks down the strongest walls.
Walls of fear and unbelief,
True peace and joy it does release.
Praise the fire, prayer the smoke,
God’s sweet Love is how we stoke.
The flame that sets the world on fire,
The One true God, my one desire.
A tiny spark can change you too,
And prayer and praise is what you’ll do.
All praise I have belongs to God alone,
My heart, my soul, my mind He owns.
And as I pray His praise I’ll sing,
And when I reach home, more praise I’ll bring.

Tertius

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying
and singing hymns to God,
and the other prisoners were listening to them.

Acts 16:25

Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor Me,
and to the blameless I will show my salvation.

Psalm 50:23

He is the one you praise;
He is your God, who performed for you
those great and awesome wonders
you saw with your own eyes.

Deuteronomy 10:21

A note about “The Plural Form of Pray”: How can anyone pray without praise in it? The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) begins and ends with praise. To simply acknowledge who God is, is to praise Him. Even Job in the worst of his troubles testified “The Lord gave, the Lord has taken away; may the Name of the Lord be praised!” Job 1:21; If it is not in your hearts, your mind and your lips, you better go see the Doctor! Luke 4:40
