YOU TAKE MINE, I’LL TAKE THINE

The little child struggled neath the heavy load,
Father and child walking down that winding uphill road.
The little child was burdened with struggles, grief and cares,
But the Father He did offer this weighty load to share.
Put your load upon Me and you can take My yoke.
The Word’s He said unto this child gives all the greatest hope.
We give to Him our burden, He gives to us His peace,
And from our greatest burden and cares He gives such great relief.
The world in all its chaos seemed to crash full weight on me,
And to all hope my eyes were blind, oh how I longed to see.
If not enough the devil threw at me, his piercing flaming darts,
But Christ is my protection, for my mind, my soul, my heart.
Put your load upon Me and you can take My yoke.
The Word’s He said unto this child gives all the greatest hope.
We give to Him our burden, He gives to us His peace,
And from our greatest burden and cares He gives such great relief.
The One who holds the stars in the hollow of His Hand,
Can hold the greatest problems ever known to man.
But carry them if you wish, they’ll drive you in the ground,
Behold the voice of Jesus calling in Him is freedom found.
So, when your burden knocks you down, you feel you can’t go on,
The same One will then pick you up who changes night to dawn.
And you can take the Master’s yoke so easy and so light,
So put your load upon His back, nothing ever felt so right.
Put your load upon Me and you can take My yoke.
The Word’s He said unto this child gives all the greatest hope.
We give to Him our burden, He gives to us His peace,
And from our greatest burden and cares He gives such great relief.
You take mine; I’ll take thine,
We will walk this road together, fine, fine, fine.
You take mine; I’ll take thine,
When this journey ends, we’ll shine, shine, shine.
You take mine; I’ll take thine,
And love and greatest peace and joy I’ll find.

Tertius

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
I Peter 5:7

“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:29-30

A note about “You Take Mine, I’ll Take Thine”: When we combine I Peter 5:7 with Matthew 11:29-30 we find the ultimate swap. We give Him our burden, and He gives us a much, much easier load to carry. Mind you His yoke will involve persecution and self-denial, but the good outweighs the bad by eternity. (Romans 8:18) Any burden without Jesus can be unbearable.
