God Knows

I just don’t get it, I cannot understand,
Why evil rules when God Loves us, every man.
Troubles, sickness, pain and death,
Plague us all till our final breath.
In the days of Noah, the world destroyed by flood,
The pages of my Bible stained with sea of blood.
Innocent children suffer and they die,
Tell me, God in Heaven, I pray thee, tell me why.

Lean not on your little mind,
Trust not the wisdom of mankind,
Look up to God who reigns above,
Know that His every purpose, His every move is Love.
Job was tested though he had done no wrong,
The devil thought him weak, but God knew him as strong.
The Lord He takes, the Lord He gives,
But faith and praise within Job lived.

Lean not on your little mind,
Trust not the wisdom of mankind,
Look up to God who reigns above,
Know that His every purpose, His every move is Love.
Who can know the mind of God, surely Lord, not I.
For everything that happens He knows the reason why.
He will reveal His thoughts one day, His Word has clearly told,
Our faith does give us comfort here, peace within our soul.
God told that His thoughts are higher than our own,
Eternity before His eye like the present to Him known.
We only see a sliver, a tiny little slice,
There’s more than meets our eye beyond this earthly life.

Lean not on your little mind,
Trust not the wisdom of mankind,
Look up to God who reigns above,
Know that His every purpose, His every move is Love.

Tertius

“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the LORD is with us,
why has all this happened to us?”
Judges 6:13
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9

A note about “God Knows:” I guess there’s not a human being that’s ever lived that at one time or another hasn’t asked God “Why?” Why pain, why death, why this, why that. I don’t think it’s always a lack of faith or trust, it could just be curiosity. Not trusting God is a sin and we know Jesus never sinned, but He did ask “Why?” (Matthew 27:46) But it all comes down to the fact that He wants us to trust Him. Trust is more important in a relationship than knowledge. This is true for a married couple and true of the Creator and His children. (Romans 9:20) The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13:12 that we will know one day as fully as we are known. Be patient about your lack of knowledge, take a daily dose of Romans 8:28 and trust God. He is way smarter than all of us put together.
