The world it is a battleground: misery, pain and death,
But I possess a greater peace that comes from God’s caress.
His Loving touch upon my heart found within His letter,
Written with the blood of saints, imprisoned and with fetters.
Like an eye within the storm,
Through bitter cold my heart is warm.
Though life’s troubles may increase,
Jesus gives me greatest peace.
Violence in the streets comes knocking on my door,
And when I think it over, it’s back, worse and more.
But just like quiet pond, on cloudless, sunny day,
My soul breathes in God’s Holy Spirit when I take time to pray.

Jesus gives me greatest peace.
Peace is found in hope, hope is found in faith,
Faith is found in Love that God is by His grace.
His Love will never leave us, its beauty will not cease,
From now unto eternity He gives the joy of peace.
Worry, stress, anxiety can drive one to the grave,
No escaping from these demons when one becomes their slave.
But I have found a better way when I hold the Master’s hand,
A peace I can’t explain, and my mind can’t understand.

Peace I leave with you;
my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

A note about “Peace”: What was the first word Jesus said to His disciples after His resurrection according to the Gospel of Luke and John? (Luke 24:36, John 20:19) He didn’t say here it is if you want it, you have to ask for it. By God’s word the world was made and by Jesus’ word peace was given to all believers. Not as the world knows, but the real thing. Inner peace in spite of outer circumstances. Where is the source for this precious thing the whole world longs for? The crimson fountain! Colossians 1:20
