The watchmen they sleep and God He prepares,
The angel will reap the wheat and the tares.
The wine press is ready, for grapes of great wrath,
The march of men steady on their destructive path.
The fig bush it buds, for the time is at hand,
And troubles will flood in every land.
This fire will burn out of control,
And men will not turn from the sins of their souls.
Misery, terror reigns through the earth,
The bearer of pain will fill up his hearse.
Darkness and smoke the devil loves these,
God’s Word has spoken of what earth will receive.
Men will cry out for death to ease pain,
And they will all shout, “On us, please, stones rain.”
God’s people will die, with loss of their heads,
As they look to the skies, for whom God’s armies are led.
Don’t tarry Lord for the world does us hate,
You will brandish your sword, and you will not be late.
A prophet’s not needed for the message is clear,
And if it’s unheeded men will live in great fear.
For Christ He did tell of the end of the age,
And earth will be hell as evil will rage.
Go to the Rock that is higher than I,
For now ticks the clock as the time it draws nigh.
Though your head it may roll, you will lose not a hair,
For the Keeper of souls, He for His, He does care.
He holds the keys to death and to hell,
When His Love you receive from His life-giving well.
You will sing in His palace and worship His Name,
There will be no more malice, evil or pain.
So be not surprised by the Day of the Lord,
Just open your eyes, and get a grip on the sword.
The sword that’s God’s Word, He sees the future as past,
And I hope this has stirred you for the time it comes fast.
Jesus was right; He said to watch and to pray,
Like a thief in the night will come that great Day.

Alas for that day! For the day of the LORD is near;
it will come like destruction from the Almighty.

A note about “Countdown”: I don’t claim to be a prophet, but the Bible is a book of prophecy. I wrote this after reading Isaiah chapter 9, for my daily read.
