GAME CHANGER

Enter sweet Zoe to battlefield earth,
We’ve seen better days for moms to give birth.
A picture of grace and innocent beauty,
But like all of us, you’ve been called to duty.
To fight for truth and do what is good,
One day we all look to our past and ask, did we do what we could?
Make the world a better place by the life that God has given,
As you’ve received, give God’s grace, every day that you are living.
The health and wealth you’re born with is God’s gift to you,
But your gift to God and to this world is what we become and what we do.

Zoe, please don’t let this world bring your spirit down,
God says the overcomer, for them, He has a crown.
Do not stoop to its lure, what’s temporal and shiny,
For time will tarnish all of earth and eons are but tiny.
Worldly wisdom tells one thing, but God says quite another,
The wealthiest souls among all people are those who give to others.
Make the world a better place by the life that God has given,
As you’ve received, give God’s grace, every day that you are living.
The health and wealth you’re born with is God’s gift to you,
But your gift to God and to this world is what we become and what we do.

God’s word stands alone in the barren field of truth,
Test it, try it, trust it, in faith we find its proof.
It will light your path on your journey of this life,
Keep your eyes on Jesus who gives us peace within the strife.

Zoe, don’t forget it takes but one to change the world,
With God in charge, you can do it, but though a tiny girl.
What a difference one life can make when prayer is employed,
When the grace of God descends, by all His grace enjoyed.
Yes, we all can find that power down upon our knees,
Consider this wisdom from one who knows, hear me, Zoe, please.
Make the world a better place by the life that God has given,
As you’ve received, give God’s grace, every day that you are living.
The health and wealth you’re born with is God’s gift to you,
But your gift to God and to this world is what we become and what we do.

Tertius

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young,
but set an example for the believers
in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

I Timothy 4:12

One who does, holds more power of change than a multitude who does not.

This was written for my youngest granddaughter, Zoe James Bogue,
born on August 12th, 2020.

A note about “Game Changer”: My mom used to tell me that early in her marriage when she and my dad were renting houses, they would always leave the house better than when they moved in. Can one person change the world? Hitler did and so did Billy Graham. We may not have as great an impact on the world as these two men, but the smallest stone causes ripples on the largest ocean. We will all change the world for better or for worse. God gives each of us both the privilege and responsibility. I pray that my granddaughter Zoe will use the rental property (her earthly body) as a blessing to the world. That includes those in her circle and beyond. Who can say that the ripple the stone makes stops because our eyes cannot see it anymore?
