GETTING A GRIP ON THE GINORMOUS, GREAT, GRAND, GLORIOUS, BEAUTY, STRENGTH, POWER, LOVE AND GRACE OF GOD

Take a minute from your busy day,
To hear a word that I must say.
We think life’s grand, it surely is,
Consider your Creator, for all is His.
The universe so huge and vast,
God Almighty goes way on past.
Every hair on every head,
Has a number, Lord Jesus said.
The feats of men we think as great,
Next to God, they have no weight.
The earth so huge, ponder its size,
Its merely a pebble in God’s eyes.
We build machines, we think we’re smart,
But they can’t grow, not a single part.
But the most amazing thing about God, my friend,
Is how a perfect God deals with sin.
We all made it, created a curse,
If God ignored it, it would make things worse.
So, He found a way to make right our wrong,
Save our souls from where they belong.
The wages of sin are surely death.
So, He took our place for us to bless.
And not only Him, but His only Son,
Could you do for me what God has done?
God’s Love greater than all creation,
No greater reason for celebration.
Maybe you believe this, maybe not,
But the fact remains, you can’t take what I’ve got.
The Love of God poured deep in my heart,
Let God in yours, that real life may start.

Tertius

Great are the works of the Lord;
they are pondered by all who delight in them.

Psalms 111:2

A note about, “Getting A Grip”: While working again at the cemetery where I wrote “Memory Lapse” (February 19th) I wrote this working on an identical column. How good can God get? I’m putting a cross (the symbol of His sublime Love) in a brick column. He gives me these beautiful words and top it off, I’m getting paid for all of this and, no, I’m not talking about the check from the cemetery committee. My pay is out of this world.
